I'm starting my Youtube channel and need a video editor experienced in high-retention, story-driven videos. My focus will be productivity, business, tech tools, and personal development. My audience includes tech-savvy professionals, business creators, and people who want to make a positive impact on their lifestyle. I want someone experienced with the frameworks of creators like Ali Abdaal, Jeff Su, Matt D’Avella, and Alex Hormozi - with emphasis on strong hooks, tight pacing, clean visuals, and transformation-driven storytelling. I batch-film content and aim for long-term growth and monetization via AdSense and brand deals. - Responsibilities Edit 12–18 minute videos (initially 3–4 per month but later the goal is 2x per week) with high engagement and retention. Cut videos with a strong Hook-Intro-Value-CTA structure Incorporate b-roll, captions, animations, memes, stock footage, and screen recordings as needed. Most of the b-roll will be images and videos from my own b-roll library but at times we'll need to access stock footage. Create punchy 5–15 sec hooks with pattern interrupts. Match editing tone: clean, minimal, polished — like Ali Abdaal or Matt D’Avella Add music, sound design, zooms/crops, motion graphics, and color grading Optimize for YouTube retention metrics: attention-grabbing, no fluff. I'll also need an Instagram version to be posted as Reels to help with the traffic to my Youtube Channel. - Requirements Proven experience editing YouTube content (portfolio required) Solid grasp of storytelling, pacing, and retention-based editing Fluent in Final Cut Pro, Premiere, or DaVinci Resolve Fast turnaround times (within 5 days per video) Comfortable syncing editing to my storytelling and tone.
