An opportunity has become available for a welder to join our growing team.
This is a permanent full-time position with an immediate start available.
Responsibilities:
Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or machinery to be used
Set up components for welding
Communicate with other production departments to organise components
Selecting, cleaning and preparing work in advance
Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
Join and Weld small and large components using various welding techniques. Have ability to weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
Assembles, welds and repairs products and components to relevant standards.
Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors. Rework as required.
Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
Finishing products by cleaning, grinding, polishing, filing.
Maintain and organise repair of tools and equipment for role and team.
Covering medium to heavy fabrication, to be successful you need to have the following;
Certificate I, II or III in Engineering and Fabrication and or relevant experience as a welder.
2nd class welding ability
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to read drawings, work to a time frame and complete tasks with a high-end finish
Eye for detail and quality
Physically fit for manual work
Be able to read and produce from computer generated drawings
Happy to ask questions if something is not clear, to give and take on feedback.
Hold safety in high regard
Be an autonomous employee
Attendance, punctuality and reliability is a must
Work to a time frame and complete tasks with a high-end finish
Ability to follow instructions and follow through on all tasks
Communicate effectively with supervisors, management and team
Available for long term work commencing immediately (or after notice period)
