We are now seeking a skilled Welder to join our growing team and contribute to high-quality fabrication and repair projects across a range of materials and applications.
Location: 22 Kyabram Street, Coolaroo VIC 3048
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $77,000 – $80,000 + Superannuation
The Role
This is a practical, hands-on role suited to an experienced Welder who can read and interpret technical drawings, perform various welding methods to Australian Standards, and maintain high-quality workmanship on every project.
Key Responsibilities
1. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine job requirements.
2. Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment (MIG, TIG, ARC) for structural and sheet metal fabrication.
3. Weld, cut, and join metal components to meet strength, alignment, and quality standards.
4. Fabricate and assemble metal frameworks, platforms, and components according to design.
5. Inspect and test welded joints for strength, accuracy, and compliance with safety codes.
6. Perform repairs and modifications on machinery, vehicles, and equipment components.
7. Operate grinders, cutters, and other metal finishing tools to achieve precision outcomes.
8. Ensure all welds meet Australian Standards and client specifications.
9. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.
10. Collaborate with supervisors, fabricators, and apprentices to meet project deadlines.
Skills & Experience
1. Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (or equivalent qualification).
2. Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in structural or general welding.
3. Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and ARC welding across mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
4. Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings accurately.
5. Strong understanding of safety standards, welding procedures, and metal properties.
6. Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail in quality control.
7. Physically fit, punctual, and reliable with a strong work ethic and teamwork mindset.
