Overview:
We are a leading wholesaler in the food industry, also offering a selection of general merchandise.
We are seeking a Warehouse Manager/Logistics Manager to oversee our distribution operations. The ideal candidate will ensure our warehousing and distribution processes run smoothly, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and ensuring timely deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Warehouse Management:
• Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations.
• Set up layout and ensure efficient space utilization.
• Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements.
• Maintain physical condition of warehouse by inspecting equipment, issuing work orders for repair, and requisitioning new equipment.
2. Logistics Management:
• Plan routes and load scheduling for deliveries.
• Coordinate drivers, vehicles, loads, and journeys.
• Work closely with suppliers and customers to improve operations and reduce cost.
3. Inventory Control:
• Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring stock rotation especially for perishable goods.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management software.
• Conduct periodic stock takes and reconciliations.
4. Staff Management:
• Recruit, train, supervise, and appraise warehouse staff.
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
5. Operational Efficiency:
• Analyse data to monitor performance and plan improvements.
• Ensure all orders are processed efficiently, ensuring that goods are dispatched on time and in the right condition.
6. Transport Relationships:
• Manage relationships with transporters and other relevant service providers.
7. Reporting:
• Prepare regular reports on warehouse efficiency, stock levels, and logistics operations.
• Recommend improvements based on report findings.
Qualifications:
• Proven work experience as a warehouse manager/logistics manager.
• Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices.
• Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
• Hands-on experience with warehouse management software and databases.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and handle the physical demands of a warehouse environment.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Remuneration:
The salary on offer for this role is $77,000.00 per annum plus superannuation.
