About the Position:
The Wall and Floor Tiler plays a vital role in delivering the core services of ATWAL Tiling Services PTY LTD by installing high-quality tile finishes that enhance both the functionality and appearance of residential and commercial spaces. This hands-on position involves working across various project sites to execute tiling tasks with precision, ensuring long-lasting results that meet client expectations and contribute to the company's reputation for superior workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
Examining plans, measuring and marking surfaces, and laying out work to ensure accurate tile placement.
Preparing wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout and adhesive, filling holes and cracks, and cleaning surfaces thoroughly.
Spreading adhesive onto prepared surfaces and tiles, and setting tiles in position.
Using tile-cutting tools to cut and shape tiles for edges, corners, and around fittings, pipes or other obstacles.
Ensuring tiles are correctly aligned, evenly spaced, and level for a professional finish.
Grouting tiles, cleaning and removing excess grout, and applying sealants or waterproofing as required.
Requirements:
Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling (or equivalent recognised qualification).
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience as a Wall and Floor Tiler.
Strong technical skills in surface preparation, tile cutting, adhesive application, grouting, and waterproofing systems.
Excellent attention to detail, spatial awareness, and ability to interpret plans and measurements accurately.
Good physical fitness and ability to work safely on construction sites.
Reliable, team-oriented approach with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
