Videographer / Photographer (with Editing Skills)

At Shon Productions we're looking for a versatile videographer/photographer who thrives on shoots — capturing compelling photo and video content for a wide range of clients — and who can also edit confidently when not on location.

This is a hands-on, shoot-first role: if you love being behind the camera and working with people, you’ll be a great fit. Editing is an important part of the mix too, but it’s the cherry on top — something you’ll do when you’re not out filming and photographing.

You’ll work on projects for corporates, not-for-profits, schools, and agencies. No two weeks are the same — some will be heavy with shoots, others will balance out with editing.

The Role

• Full-time with flexible hours (some early starts/late finishes for shoots)

• Shoot availability is key: there will be busy weeks with 3–4 shoot days

• Work from home for editing/admin (we provide internet + gear)

• Collaborate with our founder, senior producer/editor, and national freelance crew

• Lead photography & videography on shoots (corporate, education, lifestyle, events)

• Travel occasionally for interstate/regional shoots (all expenses covered)

What You’ll Be Doing

Videography

• Filming interviews, corporate stories, social and brand content

• Using Canon C70s, R5s, gimbals, lighting setups, drones, and pro audio

• Running one- or two-person shoots — directing talent, liaising with clients, and producing while shooting

Photography

• Events, headshots, lifestyle/commercial campaigns, and occasional architectural/interior shoots

• Directing people with confidence and capturing authentic moments

• Skilled with both natural light and flash/strobe setups

Editing

• Video editing in Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve (cutting, colour correction, sound mixing, graphics/titles)

• Photo editing in Lightroom/Photoshop (colour correction, retouching, consistency)

• Backing up, prepping, and exporting content for delivery

• With time: the opportunity to take on more advanced edits under guidance

You’ll Need

• Strong photography and videography skills (both matter)

• Confidence with cameras, lighting, audio, and gimbals (Canon/DJI/Aputure or similar)

• Editing competence (Lightroom/Photoshop + Premiere Pro/Resolve)

• Professional, client-facing communication skills

• Brisbane (or nearby) based — for shoots & occasional gear pickup/drop-off

• Driver’s licence and suitable transport for gear

• Flexibility for varied hours (some long days, some early/late shoots, plus travel)

• Willingness to travel interstate/regionally when needed (all covered)

• Blue card/working with children check (we’ll arrange if needed)

Nice to Have (Not Essential)

• After Effects/motion graphics skills

• Colour grading in DaVinci

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
