About

What's the role? We are looking for an experienced Video Producer to join the taste.com.au and Australia’s Best Recipes team in Sydney. This person will be immersed in the latest trends across food and recipes. This role suits a versatile storyteller passionate about creating content in the exciting world of food. From showcasing Australia’s most popular recipes to fun shoots with the team, this role will create compelling video content for audiences eager to explore the best of Australia’s number one cooking resource. Candidates will possess a keen eye for visual storytelling, be comfortable managing talent and shooting high-quality recipe videos, and have the skills to deliver engaging visual content under tight deadlines. Key responsibilities: Ensure all videos meet high journalistic standards while deeply resonating with our target audiences. Craft compelling narratives that align with our editorial values, always considering what will engage and inspire our viewers in the context of food content. Participate in daily standups to pitch engaging video stories, taking editorial direction and shaping raw footage, whether supplied or shot yourself, into captivating content. Identify the unique angle or “hook” that entices viewers, ensuring each video grabs attention and encourages further engagement within the food sphere. Assist the editorial team in creating video content that enhances the articles and recipes on taste.com.au and Australia’s Best Recipes. Use video both as a means to enhance existing stories and as a powerful storytelling medium in its own right. Explore innovative techniques and formats to create compelling video series that captivate and inform our audiences, focusing on food topics and recipes. Demonstrate expertise in video editing software, with a strong understanding of video formats and different platforms required to engage and create loyal audiences. Use your technical skills to enhance the storytelling and ensure high-quality production values, ensuring content is fit for purpose. Work closely with journalists, editors, and other producers to integrate visual elements seamlessly into our stories. Contribute to a cohesive editorial vision, ensuring that video and written content complement each other effectively within the brand context. Bring fresh, innovative ideas to the table, experimenting with new techniques, styles, and formats to elevate our video offering. Continuously explore ways to enhance viewer engagement and create memorable video experiences for our food-loving audiences. Upload video content across taste.com.au and Australia’s Best Recipes websites and social media accounts to drive audiences back to the websites, while optimising the video content to lift engagement and grow social audiences. Who are you? Experienced in food video production, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience shooting and editing in a fast-paced environment. Highly proficient with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro). After Effects skills are a bonus. Possess a strong portfolio showcasing your ability to create high-quality, engaging video stories under deadline, demonstrating a clear understanding of lifestyle content. A skilled storyteller, capable of crafting captivating narratives through video, with a keen eye for detail and a knack for identifying the “hook” that engages viewers. A strategic thinker, with experience in developing video content that resonates with target audiences. Comfortable both behind and in front of the camera, and able to collaborate with team members on presenting video content when needed. Passionate about staying current with trends in food, drinks and lifestyle, and eager to translate these trends into innovative video content.
