About
Role: Gaming Editor Overview: The LazarBeam team is looking for a gaming editor — someone who can take hours of raw multiplayer gameplay from multiple perspectives and cut it into a 10–20 minute video that feels funny, smooth, and seamless. This does not require a VFX-heavy skillset. We are looking for the kind of editor who instinctively trims dialogue for comedic timing, builds tension with pacing, and even makes downtime flow well. Responsibilities Craft a compelling story arc from unscripted gameplay footage. Cut between perspectives seamlessly, maintaining rhythm and viewer immersion. Use music, sound design, and light effects to elevate the comedic beats. Collaborate with Lannan directly to ensure edits match the channel’s voice and tone. Meet tight deadlines while preserving quality. Skills & Qualifications Storytelling Instincts – You can identify the “core” of a moment and cut away everything that slows the energy. Comedic Timing – You know when to let a joke breathe and when to punch it with a quick cut. Technical Mastery – Expert in Premiere Pro; After Effects skills are a plus but secondary to cutting skill. Collaborative Mindset – Comfortable working remotely and taking feedback constructively, while also working with other editors. Gaming Familiarity – You understand the chaos that can come from multiplayer videos and know how to make it digestible for viewers. Our Hiring Process Paid Small Trial Edit – If your portfolio shows what we’re looking for, we’ll set up a quick paid trial edit to get a feel for how you tackle a project. Paid Full Video Test – If your Paid Small Trial Edit aligns with what we are looking for, we’ll toss a full “Meme Olympics” video your way; show us how you tell a story, land a joke, and keep momentum flowing. Onboarding – The strongest editors will join the team!
