We are looking for a proactive, highly skilled Video Editor & Content Manager to work directly with me on both personal brand and business brand content. This role goes beyond editing. The right candidate will take ownership of the full content cycle: editing, scheduling, publishing, and writing platform-specific captions that drive engagement. You will begin with short-form content (Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts) and over time expand into long-form projects (YouTube, podcasts, interviews). The main KPI for this role is content performance—how well the videos generate followers, engagement, and interaction. Key Responsibilities Edit short-form videos for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, optimized for attention and retention Repurpose long-form recordings into multiple high-performing short-form videos Add subtitles, captions, hooks, transitions, and platform-specific styling Upload, schedule, and publish content across all relevant platforms Write engaging, platform-specific captions that encourage interaction and reflect each platform’s tone Follow clear editing briefs and replicate brand style while suggesting creative improvements Research current trends, sounds, and formats to keep content competitive Manage workload efficiently with strong task ownership and fast turnaround times Explore new tools and editing styles, bringing proactive ideas to improve performance Required Skills & Experience Proven experience in short-form content editing (portfolio required) Proficiency in editing software (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, CapCut, etc.) Strong understanding of platform algorithms and content best practices Experience with scheduling and publishing tools (Meta Business Suite, TikTok Scheduler, YouTube Studio) Strong copywriting ability with the skill to adapt tone for each platform Creativity and trend awareness Strong communication, organisation, and reliability Ideal Characteristics Proactive and solution-focused, not waiting for hand-holding Efficient in both execution and time management Able to balance following brand guidelines with exercising creative freedom Growth mindset, open to developing into long-form editing and larger production projects Passionate about storytelling and creating content that genuinely engages Success Metrics (KPIs) Consistent and timely delivery of edited and published content Growth in followers, watch time, reach, and engagement Captions and copy that increase interaction Proactivity in bringing new ideas, trends, and strategies to the table Budget & Commitment 5–15 hours per week depending on workload AUD $10–20/hour depending on experience Initial probationary period of 4–6 weeks to ensure fit Long-term opportunity for the right candidate Application Instructions To apply, please provide: A short introduction about yourself and why this role excites you A portfolio with examples of short-form editing (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts preferred) Examples of captions or copywriting for different platforms (if available) Your availability per week and preferred working hours (Australian Western Standard Timezone awareness is a bonus) Confirmation of your hourly rate within the range
