This is a critical infrastructure project with significant public impact. Work on a high-profile infrastructure project as part of a global team, using continuous improvement methodology and innovative technology which enable us to leave a genuine legacy. The Opportunity Reporting to the Construction or Project Manager, the Utilities Manager role is to effectively deliver all Utility-related works across the project or program of works – from initial engagement with utility providers, through delivery and any final cut overs/commissioning (as required). The role is accountable for managing all Utility-related safety, cost, commercial/finance, time and quality requirements. Responsibilities Formulate overall utility delivery strategy informing pricing and construction methodologies. Engage with utility providers and stakeholders to ensure the utility design meets project requirements. Engage with utility providers to arrange design and delivery of utility relocations and/or removals as required. Articulate a construction methodology and plan as part of a technical submission to utility providers. Ensure design meets the budget and constructability requirements. Initiate identification of risk in design which could be eliminated, mitigated or managed during construction. Manage quantity tracking throughout the design phase to enable accurate tracking of budget costs. Manage early site investigation works identifying all underground and overhead assets. Manage a team of utility site and project engineers as required to deliver the works. Manage the utility-related permit process and permit engineers (e.g. ground penetration permit). Required Skills and Competencies Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant discipline Minimum 8 years’ experience in a construction/engineering environment with significant exposure to design, costing, estimating and planning Demonstrated experience in a similar role with a strong understand of the utilities space ACCIONA has been given the Top Employer 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025 certification in Australia, which certifies the company's commitment to excellence in human resources management and those who focus on putting their people first through their exceptional HR policies.
