About

  • The Role
  • As a Live UCAT Mock Invigilator, you’ll run mocks smoothly and on time: setting up the centre, guiding students through the process, and representing Contour with professionalism and warmth. Often you are the first Contour team member that students will meet in-person, and you’ll make a lasting first impression.
  • This role suits someone with strong teamwork, empathy, and communication skills, plus the ability to problem-solve and support students. It’s a chance to face challenges, grow your leadership and interpersonal skills, and be part of a close-knit, supportive team, whilst also collaborating with tutors, consultants, and management to ensure every student has a seamless, professional experience.
  • Why Contour, and Why This Role?
  • At Contour MedPrep, you’ll join one of Australia’s fastest-growing education start-ups, working in a collaborative team where your social personality can thrive. Our culture is both driven and friendly — we’re serious about impact, but we also value fun, with frequent paid team dinners 🥳 and social events that make you feel part of a close-knit community.
  • This role isn’t admin behind a desk. You’ll connect with dozens of students each week, share moments of success, and play a visible role in their medical preparation journey. With demand for our programs tripling each year, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to showcase your communication and leadership skills while providing students with the most realistic UCAT testing experience.
  • Comprehensive Training & Support
  • You’ll start with a structured onboarding and training program, working closely with the Live Mock Team Leader and senior invigilators from your state's testing centre, to refine your communication and problem-solving skills while learning all of our procedures, systems, and processes.
  • By the end of training, you’ll feel confident running mocks alongside experienced invigilators, making the most of their support as you transition into the role. Ongoing development includes regular 1-on-1 check-ins, group training, and team meetings — plus social catch-ups that keep the team connected and supportive.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Set-Up & Pack-Up – Prepare and pack down all testing centre spaces (waiting, check-in, testing, debrief) with the equipment and layout needed to accurately simulate the UCAT.
  • Exam Delivery – Manage the full exam process: check-in and attendance, technical troubleshooting, professional invigilation, and timely conclusion with results provided.
  • Student Debriefs – Speak with students after their exam, showing empathy and professionalism, while addressing feedback and engaging confidently with parents.
  • Expected Work Hours & Availability
  • Around 15-20 hours per week during school holiday periods, including December, January, April (2 Week Holidays) and July (2 Week Holidays).
  • Around 8 hours per week during all other periods from November to August. (No Live Mocks run between August and November).
  • Note: Our mock exams are typically scheduled on Saturday and/or Sunday to maximise student attendance. A minimum of 5 hours of consistent weekend availability is required for this role.
