About
I’m a professional sign painter and calligrapher looking for a type technician / font production specialist to collaborate with me on bringing my hand-drawn alphabets to life as digital fonts. I will provide: • Complete, vector glyph sets (A–Z, a–z, numerals, punctuation) hand-drawn in ink on tracing paper with consistent proportions. • Style references and notes (handwriting fonts, dry brush lettering fonts, playful/artisanal look). Your role: • Import vectors into a font editor (Glyphs, FontLab, RoboFont, FontForge, etc.). • Standardize metrics (baseline, cap height, x-height). • Apply spacing and kerning so the fonts type smoothly. • Generate OpenType/TrueType/Woff files. Optional: help expand with diacritics, ligatures, or stylistic alternates. What I’m looking for: • Proven experience producing working fonts (please send examples/portfolio). • Ability to handle gestural, textured display fonts (not just ultra-clean text fonts). • Good communication about technical requirements and file delivery. This first project is for one font, but I already have several alphabets completed — so I’m hoping to build an ongoing collaboration if the fit is right.
