APH Contractors specialise in roadworks, earthworks, sewer & water reticulation, stormwater drainage, reclamation, marine works, jetty construction, limestone walls, concrete works, and landscaping.

They are seeking a Truck Driver to safely operate a commercial vehicle to transport goods to various locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting the truck before and after trips to ensure it's in proper working condition, adhering to traffic laws and regulations, and planning routes to optimise delivery times.

The annual salary will be $76,600 to $77,000 plus superannuation.

Duties include:

• Driving, manoeuvring, loading, and unloading heavy trucks.

• The safe operation of heavy trucks and trailers.

• Delivering products safely and in a timely manner.

• Checking truck and trailer are in good working condition and are safe to operate on a public road (Prestart).

• Operate lifting and tipping equipment to load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently.

• Securely stow and cover goods to prevent damage or loss during transit.

• Reviewing and verifying loading documentation, inspecting goods for condition, and obtaining delivery confirmation or certification.

• Ensuring products are loaded and unloaded safely and within load limitations.

• Managing driver fatigue levels whilst driving heavy vehicles.

• Operating, loading and unloading equipment safely.

• Reporting any and all faults on equipment.

• Keeping trucks and trailers in a clean, presentable fashion.

Skills Required:

• Proficiency in operating large commercial vehicles.

• Ability to read maps, use GPS systems, and plan routes efficiently to ensure timely deliveries.

• Basic understanding of truck mechanics to identify and address minor issues, conduct routine inspections.

• Clear and effective communication with dispatchers, clients, and other Drivers.

• Must have good time management skills to manage schedules and delivery timelines, ensuring on-time arrivals.

Qualifications:

• Must have at least one to two (1-2) years of full-time experience in a similar position.

• Should hold a relevant Trade Qualification or at least AQF Certificate III.
