Position Title: Truck Driver Classification: General Retail Award – Level 2 Location: Hervey Bay Family Store Status: Full-time Why this role matters The Salvos offer hope, purpose, and fulfillment for anyone seeking connection, guidance, social support and community. Primary Purpose of the Role This position provides support across the Hervey Bay Esplanade Family Store, Pialba Family Store, and Maryborough Family Store. The role is responsible for coordinating the movement of goods to and from stores throughout the Fraser Coast area. In addition, the position contributes to the overall productivity and effectiveness of the Family Stores and warehouse, in alignment with The Salvation Army’s mission. How You Will Make an Impact Coordinate the pickup and delivery of donated goods as directed by the relevant Family Store Manager, following the scheduled run sheet and adhering to all WH&S manual handling requirements. Maintain stock to required standards, ensuring items are appropriately stored, rotated, and prepared for sale. Identify brand value and product quality, and follow TSA procedures related to donation collection protocols. Assist on the retail floor as required, including sorting, pricing, and moving stock. Keep all work areas safe, clean, and free of clutter. Operate the company vehicle safely and responsibly to minimise risk of injury, property damage, or loss of life, while ensuring regular cleaning, servicing, and maintenance. Support Volunteer engagement by helping create a positive, efficient, and respectful environment for both donors and Volunteers. Provide training and maintain competency requirements for Volunteers assisting on the truck. What You Will Bring A current, valid Driver’s Licence. A First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one. At least 2 years of experience driving or operating commercial vehicles. Experience in a customer-facing role. Competent computer skills, with the ability to use software applications for daily tasks and training. A reasonable level of physical fitness to meet the demands of the role, including the ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods, and to push, pull, lift, carry, restrain stock, and climb ladders, in accordance with WH&S policies and procedures.
