• Master Scheduling and Dispatch: Assign daily jobs for drivers and vehicles. This includes planning and managing transport operations to meet safety and delivery goals.

• Route Planning and Optimisation: Optimise routes and schedules to improve efficiency, productivity, and safety. The goal is to maximise the daily completion of services and ensure timely deliveries.

• Communication and Coordination: Liaise with drivers and internal departments to ensure smooth operations. This involves communicating with drivers and providing them with clear instructions.

Performance & Compliance

• Real-time Monitoring: Oversee service delivery in real time, ensuring route completion and compliance with break times. This includes tracking driver attendance, fatigue, and other statuses.

• End-of-Day Debriefs: Conduct end-of-day debriefs to review time-lines, breaks, and service performance. The role is also responsible for monitoring and obtaining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and productivity goals.

• Reporting and Analysis: Generate and review operational reports for both internal and external stakeholders. The position requires strong administrative and reporting capabilities.

People Leadership

• Driver Development: Oversee driver inductions and training programs. This also includes providing guidance and support to front-line staff.

• Team Support and Management: Provide assistance to the Operations Manager in leading the team and driving performance. You will supervise the team, providing coaching and work instructions to help them achieve goals.

• Incident Management: Assist in incident management, which includes downloading footage and conducting follow-ups. You will address and resolve any issues that arise during operations.

Operational Excellence

• Proactive Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and resolve operational issues. You should be solution-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.

• Vehicle Maintenance and Repair: Organise and track vehicle repairs and maintenance. You will work with outside vendors to acquire needed products or services.

• Continuous Improvement: Monitor and analyse dispatch performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. You will be involved in optimising delivery schedules and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.

What You Bring:

• Proven Leadership: A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a fast-paced operations, logistics, dispatch, transport coordinator or fleet management environment.

• Operational Expertise: A strong understanding of service scheduling, dispatch and knowledge of Brisbane areas, along with the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively. You must be a solution-oriented problem-solver.

• Communication & Focus: Excellent communication skills and a customer-first mindset are essential. You must also have high attention to detail with solid administrative and reporting capabilities.

• Industry Experience: Experience in the Resource Recovery or Environmental Services industry is highly regarded.
