We have multiple opportunities available for Trades Assistants / Carpenters to join our Defence division and support with this contract. These are permanent full-time positions based at key sites across the Northern Territory including Darwin, Robertson and Tindal. About the role You will support qualified tradespeople by performing a variety of manual tasks across construction, maintenance, or industrial sites, or deliver carpentry and general maintenance services across bases. Your key responsibilities may include: Assisting tradespeople with tasks such as measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing materials. Preparing and cleaning work areas, ensuring tools and equipment are ready for use. Performing general maintenance tasks including patching, painting, tiling, and minor plumbing work. Loading, transporting, and organising materials and supplies on-site. Operating basic hand and power tools under supervision. Performing general labouring duties including lifting, digging, and site clean-up. Communicating effectively with team members and supervisors. About you Our ideal candidate will have: Previous experience in a construction, maintenance, or industrial environment. Hands-on exposure to assisting qualified trades such as carpenters, electricians, plumbers, or landscapers, or be a qualified Carpenter. Familiarity with using basic hand and power tools. Experience performing manual labour tasks such as lifting, digging, or site clean-up. Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work safely on active job sites. Experience working as part of a team in fast-paced or physically demanding settings. White Card. We strongly encourage anyone working in this role to apply.
