Company : Hastings Deering (Australia) Ltd We have an exciting opportunity for a Trades Assistant to join our team in our Townsville business centre! These are permanent full-time positions working Monday to Friday. What you’ll be doing: Support the team – assist trades personnel with mechanical work while following strict safety procedures and contamination control standards. Deliver quality workmanship – take every step to ensure tasks are completed correctly the first time, with no rework required. Follow repair standards – carry out all repairs in line with appropriate control guidelines and company processes. Operate equipment – gain hands-on experience using overhead gantry cranes and forklifts. Keep the workshop running – contribute to general yard duties and wash bay tasks to maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment. Learn and grow – work with state-of-the-art machinery and develop your skills alongside experienced technicians. Who are we and why work with us? What you’ll need A successful teammate will have: Experience that counts – previous experience in a similar Trade Assistant role. Strong communicator – excellent communication skills with a genuine customer focus. Licenses a plus – overhead crane and forklift tickets are desirable (training opportunities may be available). Organised and efficient – strong time management skills to keep jobs on track. Team player – able to work well with others as well as independently when required.
