We are currently seeking a dedicated Telecommunications Technician to join our team at Tarneit.
Role: Telecommunications Technician
Location: Tarneit, VIC
Key Responsibilities
• Install, configure, and maintain a variety of telecommunications systems and equipment, including telephones, data transmission hardware, and related network devices.
• Identify, diagnose, and rectify faults in telecommunications lines and equipment using specialised testing tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic instruments.
• Perform repairs, adjustments, and replacement of defective parts to ensure systems operate efficiently.
• Connect and terminate cables, wires, and other components, ensuring accurate alignment and high-quality workmanship.
• Conduct inspections and testing of systems to verify safety, compliance, and performance standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to support upgrades, modifications, and expansions of telecom networks.
• Document work activities, maintenance schedules, and fault rectifications to maintain accurate service records.
• Ensure all installations and repairs adhere to safety regulations, company standards, and industry best practices.
• Provide on-site technical support and advice to clients, addressing system-related queries and offering practical solutions.
• Participate in training programs and stay updated with evolving technologies within the IT and telecommunications field.
Skills & Qualifications
• Minimum of 1 year’s relevant industry experience.
• AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV in a related field.
• Sound knowledge of telecommunications systems, equipment, and testing instruments.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and specifications.
• Practical problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Understanding of workplace health and safety standards.

Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 + Superannuation
Hours: Full-time, 38 hours per week
