The Role
With the expansion of our business, OnSpec are seeking Telecommunications Linesworkers to safely and competently complete the installation and maintenance of external telecommunications equipment. The role will primarily involve the installation, testing and servicing of aerial and underground cabling systems, conduits, pits and associated antennae to ensure reliable communications.
As part of this role, you will be involved in the installation and maintenance of cabling systems, including interpreting drawings and specifications to determine correct positioning, connecting and securing wires and cables, locating and repairing faults in telecommunications equipment using appropriate instruments, and carrying out adjustments or replacements where required.
In addition to these duties, you may also support the installation and servicing of specialised downhole cabled gauges and related sensor systems, integrating them with fibre optic and surface data acquisition systems. This work will be viewed favourably as a complementary extension of your telecommunications cabling expertise.
The ideal candidates will be
Experienced in telecommunications field operations (cabling, aerial/underground works, antennae)
Safety leaders with a strong work ethic
Mechanically minded and adaptable to field conditions
Positive in attitude and able to work within a team
Based in Queensland
This position will be hands-on, based out of Chinchilla and includes some workshop servicing but primarily field work (Surat and other basins).
Enjoy a lifestyle roster of 15 days on – 13 days off.
To be successful
The successful candidates will have:
Drivers Licence (essential)
Mid to high-level experience in the oil and gas industry (desirable)
MR or higher Truck licence (desirable)
Forklift licence (desirable)
