  • This is a role for a systems thinker and hands-on leader, leveraging strong embedded engineering experience to inspire teams, navigate ambiguity, technical complexity, and deliver excellence to international customers.

In this role, you will be responsible for

  • Technical Leadership & Ownership
  • Act as the system technical authority for a driver monitoring product line;
  • Lead architectural decision making, risk assessments and technical reviews; and
  • Ensure consistency, integrity and technical excellence across all subsystems.
  • Product Definition & Requirements
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and requirement elicitation;
  • Define system and subsystem requirements with full traceability; and
  • Drive system architecture, interfaces and system behaviour specifications.
  • System Integration & Validation
  • Own the integration of hardware, embedded software, algorithms, cloud interfaces and manufacturing processes;
  • Lead system-level, qualification and release readiness activities;
  • Design and oversee validation datasets, performance evaluation and analysis; and
  • Coordinate development and automation of system test capabilities.
  • Field Performance & Reliability
  • Analyse field data to identify, root-cause and resolve product issues;
  • Drive corrective actions and improvement cycles across engineering teams; and
  • Provide technical expertise to customers, installers, support teams and field engineers.
  • Standards, Compliance & Certification
  • Ensure product compliance to product safety, environmental and regulatory standards; and
  • Manage traceability and documentation across V-model and Agile workflows;
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Product Management on roadmap planning, prioritisation and customer needs;
  • Collaborate with Program/Project Managers on scheduling, cost, risk and resource planning;
  • Coordinate contributions from subject matter experts from across the business;
  • Engage with suppliers and technical partners; and
  • Communicate technical decisions and project updates to executives and stakeholders.
  • Release & Change Management
  • Oversee release planning, readiness and sign-off;
  • Manage configuration, version control and technical change processes; and
  • Identify and reduce system-level technical debt.
  • Customer Excellence
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders from Fortune 100 companies;
  • Manage customer change requests, issues, and challenges;
  • Analyze, root cause and resolve field issues;
  • Lead technical customer meetings and workshops; and
  • Negotiate product roadmap and release scope.
  • People Management
  • Coach, mentor and give direction to team members;
  • Provide opportunities for skills growth, learning, and career development for team members;
  • Set individual and team goals and continually provide performance feedback; and
  • Lead recruitment activities.

To be be successful in this role, you will have

  • BSc/BEng in Systems Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering or equivalent;
  • 10-12+ years of professional experience in delivering complex product systems across the full product development lifecycle;
  • Hands-on background in embedded software, embedded Linux, or microcontroller systems;
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams;
  • Strong understanding of camera systems, real-time constraints and system integration challenges;
  • Formal root-cause analysis and problem-solving capability;
  • Customer management experience; and
  • Strong communication and documentation habits, especially for cross-team coordination.

The below skills and experience are highly desirable for this role

  • Experience with in-vehicle datalinks (CAN, RS485, NMEA)
  • Experience with computer vision algorithms or sensor fusion
  • Experience with vehicle fleet products or telematics platforms
  • Familiarity with OTA architectures, bootloaders, diagnostics and in-field update mechanisms
  • Experience with Agile ways of working
  • Use of AI technologies to boost product quality and accelerate hardware and software development efficiency
