About the role Are you a compassionate leader with a strong clinical background and a passion for supporting young people? The Salvation Army is seeking a dedicated and experienced Program Manager to lead our Western Sydney Fyrst Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Case Work & Counselling Program. As Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in strategically leading and managing client-centred service delivery, operations, and staff within our youth-focused AOD program. You’ll ensure culturally safe, inclusive, and high-quality services for young people aged 16–25 years. This is a full-time permanent role based in Blacktown, Sydney. Salary is in accordance with SCHADS level 4. How you will make an impact Lead and manage the delivery of services in line with contractual and accreditation requirements Oversee a small caseload and facilitate group programs in schools and community settings Supervise and support a multidisciplinary team; recruit and develop staff in line with workforce strategy Champion a positive, inclusive team culture and manage performance issues where required Embed the voice of young people in program planning and quality improvement Apply trauma-informed and evidence-based practice frameworks Analyse service data and feedback to drive program improvement Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders Represent The Salvation Army at sector forums and leadership teams Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and organisational policies What you will bring A bachelor’s degree in psychology, counselling, social work, or related discipline Relevant professional registration or membership (e.g., AHPRA, ACA, AASW) Demonstrated clinical experience with youth aged 16–25, particularly in AOD, mental health, trauma, and related challenges Strong counselling skills and understanding of trauma-informed care Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, culturally and linguistically diverse groups, and other diverse populations Proven success managing teams in health or community settings Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and organisational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and client management systems What We Offer Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free + $2,650 meal entertainment benefit.
