About the Role We’re seeking a skilled and proactive Team Lead - IT Applications to manage a team of technical professionals responsible for the administration, support, and optimisation of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software applications. This leadership role focuses on ensuring application performance, security, and alignment with the organisation’s Standard Operating Environment (SOE), while driving service excellence and managing vendor relationships. You’ll oversee the full application lifecycle - from procurement to retirement -lead service improvement initiatives, and support project delivery. The role also includes people management, budget oversight, vendor coordination, and ensuring compliance with change, incident, and security protocols. Key Responsibilities: Lead application lifecycle management, including strategy, procurement, configuration, and optimisation. Oversee service management and support processes for commercial applications, ensuring timely resolution and continuous improvement. Manage and mentor a team of application administrators, fostering capability development and operational excellence. Coordinate vendor relationships, licensing, renewals, and performance. Support budgeting, cost control, and procurement processes. Drive change and configuration management, ensuring compliance and documentation. Lead incident and problem resolution, including root cause analysis and preventive measures. Ensure application availability, continuity planning, and disaster recovery readiness. Uphold information security standards, access controls, and compliance reporting. About You Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related field. 5-10+ years’ experience in commercial application management. Strong knowledge of COTS software, ITIL processes, and enterprise systems. Skilled in application configuration, deployment, and automation tools. Experience with ServiceNow and software asset management. Professional certifications (e.g. ITIL, PMP) preferred. Proven leadership, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving abilities.
