About the Opportunity
As the Tax Manager, you will be stepping into a newly created position, offering the chance to elevate the entire tax function from the ground up. This role is pivotal in ensuring robust tax compliance, driving strategic tax planning, and providing critical advisory services across a complex, multi-entity operational environment within the dynamic energy sector.

- Lead the end-to-end tax function, including compliance, reporting, and advisory across all taxes; Corporate Tax, GST, FBT, etc
- Manage complex tax obligations and ensure rigorous adherence to Australian and relevant international regulatory requirements.
- Partner with internal finance, legal, and operational stakeholders to provide commercially focused tax advice on strategic business initiatives and transactions.
- Oversee all tax-related accounting, provisioning, and disclosure requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, implement robust tax technology, and shape governance frameworks for the tax function.
- Manage and coordinate external tax advisors and the preparation of tax returns.
Ideal Profile:
- CPA/CA qualified with a strong track record gained in either a Big 4 or a large corporate environment, ideally within the Energy sector
- Proven experience managing a tax function or leading complex tax projects in a sophisticated, multi-entity environment
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian corporate tax law and indirect taxes (GST).
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex tax issues into practical commercial advice.
- High level of attention to detail combined with strong commercial acumen and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Demonstrated ability to shape and implement systems, processes, and governance frameworks.
