Job Description – Entry Level Support Worker

Location: North Brisbane & Redcliffe, QLD
Employment Type: Casual / Part-Time / Full-Time (as negotiated)

About the Role

Yirra Care Pty Ltd is seeking compassionate and motivated Entry-Level Support Workers to join our growing team across the North Brisbane and Redcliffe regions. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting people with disabilities to live independently, achieve their goals, and participate fully in their community.

As a Support Worker, you will provide personalised assistance with daily living, community access, personal care, and skill development in line with each participant’s NDIS plan.

Key Responsibilities

Provide person-centred support to NDIS participants in their homes and the community.

Assist with daily living activities including meal preparation, cleaning, and personal care.

Support participants to attend appointments, social activities, and community programs.

Encourage independence by promoting skill development and goal achievement.

Maintain accurate progress notes and incident reporting in compliance with NDIS requirements.

Work collaboratively with participants, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must hold all relevant certifications and licences required for disability support work, including:

Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent qualification

NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card)

Blue Card (Working with Children Check)

First Aid & CPR Certificate (current)

Manual Handling Certificate

Medication Administration Training (if providing medication support)

Valid Driver’s Licence and reliable, registered vehicle with comprehensive insurance

NDIS Orientation Module (mandatory)

Desirable Skills & Attributes

Previous experience in disability, aged care, or community support (not essential for entry level).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Reliable, flexible, and committed to supporting people with diverse needs.

Cultural awareness and sensitivity, especially when working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants and people from diverse backgrounds.
