Our Client, a leading organisation in the defence sector, is seeking a driven and proactive Subcontracts Specialist to join their growing team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in a high-growth environment, working on complex projects with a global reach.

As a member of a small, flexible team. You will be instrumental in a function that is growing rapidly.

What You'll Do:

• Manage the end-to-end pre and post-contract award process.

• Lead strategic sourcing activities and conduct the full procurement lifecycle using RFx documentation.

• Review proposals, negotiate contractual documentation, and select or recommend suppliers.

• Provide essential contractual support and advice to management and staff on existing contracts and new business opportunities.

• Ensure that all contractual business complies with all Export and Import Control requirements

• Work on low-volume, high-complexity, and high-compliance subcontracts, many of which involve international transactions with the US, APAC, UK, and Europe.

• Monitor and manage the performance of subcontractors and suppliers.

• Identify new suppliers to meet program needs and assess their suitability for procurement.

What You'll Bring:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in contract or subcontract management and administration.

• A tertiary qualification in a law or business-related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

• The ability to work accurately, manage multiple tasks effectively, and prioritize work without direct supervision.

• A positive, flexible, and self-motivated attitude with a proven ability to work well in a busy team environment.

• An understanding of budgets, cost control, and financial performance management.

• Eligibility for an Australian Defence Security Clearance.

• Experience in the defence industry is highly desirable but not mandatory

• This is a hybrid role with a flexible work environment. You'll work 3 days in the office and have the option to work from home 2 days per week, as part of a 9-day fortnight arrangement.
