Primary Location NSW - Rockdale Job Description Summary ConnectSydney are looking for an experienced Strategy Execution Lead to join the Strategy and Network Operations team! About the Role ConnectSydney, a joint venture of ServiceStream, Boral, and Johnson Controls, in partnership with Transport for NSW (TfNSW), is entrusted with the management of the Harbour Zone. Our responsibilities encompass routine maintenance, strategic enhancements, and specialised projects aimed at bolstering Sydney's transport infrastructure. The Strategy Execution Lead will work closely with the leadership team and is critical to ensuring that we deliver our mission through structured, impactful strategy execution. As the volume and complexity of strategic and business improvement initiatives increase, dedicated senior capability is required to maintain visibility, identify risks and improvement opportunities, and drive disciplined execution. The role acts as a trusted extension of the Director of Strategy and Network Operations, providing strategic & operational analysis, motivation and self-initiative, follow-through, and structured reporting to ensure initiatives maintain momentum and deliver outcomes with intent and excellence. Key Responsibilities: Drive strategic initiatives – eye for detail: Critically review defined scopes and plans, identify risks and improvement opportunities, and collaboratively drive delivery of strategic initiatives and business improvement projects. Drive outcome - accountability: Self-motivated, proactively follow up on status, identify issues early, and ensure deliverables and outcomes are clearly understood and achieved. Build and sustain relationships - collaboration: Work effectively with the Director of Strategy and Network Operations, the leadership team and across all levels of the organisation to align priorities, enable clear decision-making, and support the delivery of strategic initiatives. Provide insightful reporting – business analysis: Produce and improve high-quality, accurate and insightful reports for monthly updates, clearly articulating progress, risks, dependencies and recommendations. Identify and implement process improvements: Continuously review existing processes and systems, drive optimisation and automation, and support the implementation of improvements. Conduct research and create documentation: Undertake targeted research and prepare accurate, well-structured documentation and presentations to support strategic thinking and initiatives. Maintain stakeholder communication: Engage across the business to monitor progress, manage expectations and ensure alignment on priorities and outcomes. Exemplify professionalism: Operate at a senior level with sound judgment, persistence and influence, engaging in outcome-oriented conversations and maintaining high professional standards. Balance strategic intent with operational reality: Apply sound judgment to balance long-term strategic objectives with practical business needs, ensuring initiatives remain achievable, relevant and grounded in operational context. Navigate competing priorities: Effectively manage and reconcile conflicting business priorities, maintaining focus on agreed strategic outcomes while supporting pragmatic decision-making in dynamic environments. Exercise discretion and strategic judgment: Handle sensitive initiatives confidentially and professionally while supporting informed decision‑making. Hold strategic complexity with operational pragmatism: Operate comfortably in environments of ambiguity and complexity, synthesising multiple inputs and perspectives to support clear, practical next steps and sustained delivery. About You: 10-15 years minimum professional experience 3-5 years minimum experience working in a similar position and previous experience in driving successfully strategic projects Advanced understanding of working the construction industry. Experience in project management and progress reporting Effective communication skills (written & verbal) incl report writing skills. Knowledge of business systems and the ability to learn new systems (instead of this, maybe we can list which systems as examples).
