About
Strategic Communications and Outreach Manager
Location: Surry Hills Sydney, in office | But with WA / NT and QLD travel required.
Employment Type: Full-time
Who are we?
The Careers Department is a SaaS tech platform that services 780 schools nationally. (*Look at our website, we aren’t your regular ‘careers program’).
We are solving the problem that we’ve all experienced at one point; “Which career should I pursue; and how do I know I am making the right choice?”
We have (excitingly) just launched a new arm; an employer log in / industry portal.
This new tool allows industry partners (from local small businesses to large scale multi nationals) the ability to share work experience and job-related opportunities directly with students. The employer portal gives industry access to data and insights around what the pipeline of talent looks like in their footprint, for example, how many students in their region are interested in studying a relevant course? This data helps industry understand and forecast pipeline.
In short; we work with schools to drive industry understanding, teaching young people what the future of work could look. And on the other side, we are now helping industry understand what (and where) school leaver audiences are intending on studying and working.
We are looking for someone to join the business who can help us onboard, train and manage our industry partners; at scale. In the role, you will grow our WA / QLD and NT footprint by building strong employer partnerships, supporting schools to embed our careers platform, and delivering measurable impact against program targets. (*Travel to these areas is required through the year).
This is the perfect role for someone who wants to be involved in the growth of a new technology platform; and for someone who is eager to work strategically to scale a new vertical within a successful EdTech. We are looking for a confident presenter. This job suits someone who enjoys working with other people; and building relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Industry Partner Engagement and Onboarding
- Source, onboard and manage industry partners to the program. (We have a large backlog of industry partners who are ready to be onboarded!)
- Attend meetings to present the platform value proposition; and to help teams understand how to use and leverage the program.
- Populate employer pages in collaboration with the partner and our content team.
- Develop Industry case studies; and share these findings.
Schools and Youth Organisation Engagement
- Onboard and manage engagement for high schools and youth organisations across the WA / QLD / NT footprint. (Again, interstate travel is required).
- Conduct demos and training for teachers and school leadership teams.
- Support in-class onboarding of students and troubleshoot access issues.
- Build and deliver tailored communications to support ongoing participation.
- Produce insights and engagement reports aligned to school needs and objectives.
Communications and Content
- Oversee the communications strategy for industry pages showcased within schools.
- Develop and deliver the comms plan for schools, including activation campaigns and engagement nudges.
- Contribute to content improvement opportunities based on student and school feedback.
Who we are looking for
- We are looking for a confident presenter. This job suits someone who enjoys working with other people; and building relationships.
- We are looking for someone with excellent project-management, organisation and follow-through. You will be working with external stakeholders on mass; and you will need to be a reliable contact.
- You will need strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing. Too; we are looking for someone who is creative – and has the ability to build comms packs that are ‘outside the ordinary’.
- You need to be comfortable working autonomously and travelling when required.
