In August 2022, we started on a new chapter when the Victorian State Government partnered with Aware Super, Australian Retirement Trust, and Macquarie Asset Management to operate registration and licensing services on its behalf. We work collaboratively with the Victorian State Government to ensure we fulfill regulatory requirements, deliver State projects and safeguard customer data. The Victorian State Government retains sole responsibility for road access, infrastructure and safety. Annual salary range: Commensurate with experience Employment type: Permanent – Ongoing Usual work location: 180 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne / Work from home About the opportunity The State Engagement Manager role offers an exciting opportunity to manage strategic collaboration between VicRoads and State stakeholders. This position is key in developing and maintaining strong, effective relationships to support the successful delivery of joint priorities, initiatives, and projects. Operating within the Joint Operating Model and embedded Governance Forums, the role ensures all engagement activities are aligned with VicRoads’ obligations under the Concession Deed. It plays a vital role in ensuring that requests from both VicRoads and the State are effectively managed and fulfilled, contributing to seamless project delivery and long-term stakeholder partnerships. About you An experienced, collaborative, and adaptable professional with a proven track record in managing governance and state engagement within complex regulatory frameworks. Skilled at fostering credible partnerships and coordinating joint forums to support smooth project delivery. Known for exceptional attention to detail when reviewing and analysing complex information to ensure compliance and alignment with contractual obligations. You demonstrate a strong focus on outcomes while effectively balancing competing priorities in fast-paced environments. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills enable meaningful engagement with diverse stakeholders and successful achievement of objectives. Tertiary qualifications in law, governance or a related field. Proven experience managing state engagement and governance processes Strong ability to coordinate joint forums and manage governance outputs Expertise in reviewing complex information to ensure compliance with frameworks and contracts Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills High attention to detail with a focus on quality assurance and problem-solving Our culture Innovation powers progress, but it doesn’t come without support. Our customer service network reaches all corners of the State, with 41 Customer Service Centres, another four dedicated Licence Testing Centres, and three call centres serving more than 90-thousand customers a week. This is in addition to our online and digital products and services which enable more than 24 million transactions per year.
