SRG Hospitality - Akti, is currently recruiting for Sommelier to join our friendly and motivated team at Akti, Woolloomooloo.

From 2 hatted fine dining to stunning waterfront views and relaxed café fare, the group is diverse, offering a range of restaurant experiences to suit every occasion.

Some of your main duties will include, but are not limited to the following -

Working with Front and Back of House Managers to develop wine list
Advising customers on wine pairing with food, occasion and budget
Assisting Front of House staff, with taking of drink orders and serving guests at the appropriate time
Responsible for training other restaurant staff on the wine list and food pairing
Managing restaurant wine cellar
We are looking for candidates with the following qualities:

Certificate III in Hospitality and/or at least 18 – 24 months experience;
Ability to multi-task, to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure;
Reliable, punctual and trust worthy;
High standard of personal presentation and hygiene;
Must work well in a team environment;
Positive attitude and passion for cooking;
Sound understanding of HACCP & Food and Safety Regulations & requirements;
Flexibility to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.
Job Type: Permanent Full-time
Salary Package: $75,000 to $85,000 plus Super depending on qualifications and experience.
