RHT Contracting’s Small Engine Fleet includes Light Vehicles, Generators, Dewatering Pumps, Electrical Tooling equipment, Lighting Plants & Fire Fighting trailers.

RHT Contracting is looking for an experienced Full time Small Engine Mechanic to join the business at their remote location of Cockatoo Island Site on a FIFO Roster.

Duties to be performed:

• Utilizing computer-based diagnostics and specialised tools to evaluate the performance of motorcycles, scooters, outboard motors, lawnmowers, and other small engines, and isolating potential mechanical or electrical faults
• Tuning and calibrating small engine components post-repair to optimise efficiency, improve fuel economy, and restore operational standards
• Consulting manufacturer manuals and technical guides to replace damaged or worn elements, ensuring correct fit and alignment within small engine systems
• Performing preventative maintenance tasks such as oil and filter changes, spark plug replacement, carburettor cleaning, lubrication, and emissions tuning to enhance compliance with environmental standards and extend engine lifespan
• Identifying and resolving inconsistencies in ignition systems, electrical circuits, and fuel linkages by pinpointing malfunction sources within compact powertrains
• Reassembling, aligning, and testing small engines and mechanical components after repair or overhaul to meet manufacturer specifications
• Inspecting and ordering replacement parts for small engines through the company’s maintenance system to ensure timely and accurate servicing
• Providing advice to equipment owners on safe operation, maintenance schedules, and cost-effective repair solutions

Requirement:
• Relevant Qualification or 3 years of experience in lieu of the qualification.
• At least 1 year of experience in the relevant role.
• strong work ethic
• Able to work under pressure

Position: Full Time

Salary: $100,000 – 130,000 per year
Location: COCKATOO ISLAND, WA 6731
