We’re looking for an experienced Shopify Speed Optimisation Specialist to improve the performance of our Shopify store without compromising our critical tracking infrastructure. Your primary responsibility will be diagnosing speed issues, interpreting Google PageSpeed Insights reports, and implementing solutions to enhance metrics such as LCP, INP, CLS, FCP, and TTFB. However, our #1 priority is maintaining the accuracy and integrity of all tracking scripts. We’ve previously had issues where speed optimisations broke critical analytics and advertising tracking. This cannot happen again — and we’re looking for someone who deeply understands both performance and tracking best practices. Key Responsibilities: • Analyse performance using Google PageSpeed Insights and other tools • Improve core vitals: LCP, INP, CLS, FCP, TTFB • Identify and resolve JavaScript errors or bottlenecks • Audit and optimise assets (images, fonts, code, etc.) • Minify/Defer scripts where appropriate without affecting tracking • Maintain full functionality and accuracy of all tracking scripts (Meta, Google Ads, GA4, Klaviyo, etc.) • Seek approval before making any changes that involve tracking or attribution scripts Required Skills & Experience: • Proven experience optimising Shopify stores for speed • Solid understanding of Shopify’s Liquid code and theme structure • Familiarity with core web vitals and how to improve them • Expert-level knowledge of browser rendering and script management • Deep experience managing tracking scripts and third-party tools • Strong communication skills — especially around proposed script changes
