Well established Sheet Metal Products Design & Fabrication business in Carrum Downs Melbourne is seeking a Sheet Metal Fabricator / Brake Press Operator to join their team.

X-FORM is a contract manufacturer of sheet metal products providing in-house laser cutting, brake press folding, MIG and TIG welding, finishing and assembly services to a diverse range of industries including building & construction, retail, commercial shop fitting, materials handling, transport, industrial equipment and marine. X-FORM is seeking an experienced “Sheet Metal Fabricator / Brake Press Operator” to join the welding & fabrication team. In this position you will have the following skills;

• Experience using DELEM controllers to program tooling and fold sequences
• Ability to carry out basic Brake Press maintenance and calibration activities
• Ability to read and interpret Shop Drawings to determine job, material and equipment requirements
• Ability to cut metal sheets using hand powered tools and drills
• Able to assist the assembly team with polishing stainless steel welds, filing, sanding and cleaning assembled products requiring a high quality finish
• Ability to train / teach other staff members basic machine use
• Possess a forklift license, or have forklift driving experience
• Good to excellent English verbal and written skills

This is an important role for the business with a dedicated work area and tools provided.

About You

· Minimum 2 years’ experience in a metal fabrication, manufacturing environment (2nd class tradesman)
· Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication Trade
· Experience in comparable/similar role
· Ability to read and work to shop/production drawings
· Be an Australian citizen or have full working rights to work in Australia

At X-FORM you will enjoy a regular 38 hour working week (7:00am to 3:30pm Mon-Thur, 7:00am – 1:30pm Friday) with plenty of overtime on offer.
X-FORM will also provide onsite training and pathways for upskilling into welding and fabricating roles within the business.
