About
We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Sheep Farm Worker on behalf of our client, Hillcroft Farms Pty Ltd, a large mixed-farming operation located in Lol Gray, Western Australia. This is a full-time, permanent position for a motivated individual with practical experience working with sheep in a commercial farm setting.

About the Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting in the raising and daily care of sheep as part of Hillcroft Farms’ broader livestock and cropping operations. The role will involve general animal husbandry, paddock work, and supporting seasonal farm tasks across the enterprise.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
In accordance with the ANZSCO classification 842317 – Sheep Farm Worker, the role includes:
• Assisting in the raising, feeding, and general care of sheep
• Observing sheep for signs of illness or injury and reporting issues to supervisors
• Moving sheep between paddocks or yards using safe handling practices
• Assisting with lambing, marking, weaning, shearing, crutching, and drafting activities
• Cleaning and maintaining sheep yards, shearing sheds, water troughs, and feeding areas
• Assisting with pasture management and fencing repairs
• Monitoring feed and water supplies and refilling as needed
• Following all animal welfare, biosecurity, and workplace health and safety procedures
• Supporting other general farm duties as required across the property

Skills, Qualifications and Experience
To be eligible for this role, applicants must meet one of the following:
• Hold an AQF Certificate II or equivalent, and have at least 1.5 years (20+ hours/week) of relevant post-qualification experience; OR
• Hold an AQF Certificate III or higher, and have at least 1 year (20+ hours/week) of relevant post-qualification experience; OR
• Have at least 1 year of full-time (38+ hours/week) relevant experience in sheep farming or livestock handling
Desirable Skills and Attributes:
• Demonstrated experience in the care and handling of sheep in a farm setting
• Familiarity with basic animal health observation and treatment (under supervision)
• Physically fit and capable of working in outdoor, rural conditions
• Basic knowledge of safe operation of farm tools, fencing equipment, and water systems
• Able to follow directions and work both independently and in a team
• Current driver's licence is essential; machinery operation experience is beneficial
• Understanding of animal welfare and biosecurity practices
