We are seeking an experienced Floor Worker with a strong background in industrial sewing and warehouse operations to join our fast-paced manufacturing team. This role is hands-on and requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously and within a team. The successful candidate will assist in the end-to-end production of shade sails, from fabric handling to final stitching and quality control.

We are a manufacturer of high-quality custom shade sails for trade professionals across Australia. Our production facility is based in Gold Coast, and we pride ourselves on craftsmanship, durability, and innovation in sun protection solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate industrial sewing machines to manufacture custom shade sails to specifications
Cut and prepare shade cloth (Z16, E32, Vinyl and Dri-Z) to exact dimensions using measurement tools
Sew corner patches, reinforce edges, and install Keder, webbing, and cable pockets
Read and interpret manufacturing drawings, job sheets, and measurements
Assemble and inspect hardware (e.g. stainless steel cable, D-rings, turnbuckles)
Conduct quality checks throughout the production process
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area and equipment
Follow all health and safety protocols on the warehouse floor
Assist in general warehouse duties including packing, dispatch, and inventory when required
Required Skills:

Minimum 1 year experience in a warehouse/factory floor environment
Minimum 1 year experience operating industrial sewing machines, particularly walking foot and heavy-duty machines
Strong understanding of textile handling, tensioning, and alignment
Ability to work with shade cloth (e.g. Z16, Extreme 32) and materials
Experience sewing complex seams and curves
Comfortable using power tools, hot knives, scissors, measuring tapes, and hand tools
Excellent math and measurement skills
Excellent attention to detail and quality control
Ability to work from production schedules and meet deadlines
Physically fit with the ability to stand for extended periods and lift rolls of fabric
