The Job Role

We are currently looking for enthusiastic and motivated Service Manager to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader to take charge of a high-performing service department and contribute to the continued success of our business.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

* Ensures courteous customer reception, efficient service follow-up, and consistent delivery of high-quality operations within the mechanical service department.
* Monitors customer feedback and complaints, providing prompt, fair resolutions and driving continuous service improvement.
* Reviews and authorizes sales objectives, departmental costs, and daily progress to maintain efficiency and profitability.
* Coordinates with the financial controller to set and track sales, profit targets, and controllable expenses, including maintenance, repair, and warranty-related costs.
* Secures competitive quotations for tools, equipment, sublet repairs, and supplies while minimizing waste in time, space, and resources.
* Develops marketing, merchandising, and promotional strategies, and establishes pricing policies aligned with market conditions to boost profitability.
* Attends manufacturer meetings and training sessions to stay updated with company policies, technical standards, and service innovations.
* Maintains safe, efficient, and well-equipped work conditions, ensuring compliance with safety standards and cleanliness across all areas.
* Manages the use and maintenance of service and loan vehicles, oversees defective warranty part controls, and coordinates with Parts and Accessories for ordered components.
* Sets and reviews monthly sales targets with staff, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement in service performance.
* Determines staffing requirements, monitors employee performance, and conducts regular appraisals to ensure optimal productivity.
* Implements staff training, development, and motivation programs to strengthen competence, engagement, and morale.
* Ensures all staff receive required manufacturer training, stay updated on product and service developments, and conducts regular product and service meetings.

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following:

* At least five (5) years of relevant assistant service manager role with well-developed business skills (preferred)
* Strong understanding of automotive systems, repair procedures, and service management processes, or qualified Automotive Technician experience is highly regarded
* Proven track record in sales management, customer satisfaction, and departmental profitability.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
* Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
* Valid driver’s license required.

Salary: $75,000 to $90,000 per annum
