Lume is an AI-powered English test preparation platform (IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Duolingo English Test). We help students study smarter, faster, and more affordably so they can achieve their goals of studying, working, or migrating abroad. We are expanding into the Latin American market, starting with Mexico, and are seeking an independent SEO Specialist contractor to execute our SEO strategy. The SEO Specialist will be responsible for: 1. Research & Strategy * Conduct keyword research in Spanish (es-MX), focused on exam prep: IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, and Duolingo English Test. * Analyze competitors in the Mexican education/EdTech space. * Develop a 3-month SEO roadmap with priorities for content, backlinks, and technical fixes. 2. On-Page SEO * Optimize landing pages and blog articles for Mexico search intent. * Ensure proper use of titles, H1/H2, meta descriptions, alt tags, and internal linking. * Create localized metadata for /mx/ pages and set up hreflang tags. 3. Technical SEO * Audit site for indexing, crawlability, and site speed. * Implement schema markup for exams and guides. * Monitor Google Search Console for errors and fix them. 4. Off-Page SEO * Build high-quality backlinks from Mexican education blogs, study abroad agencies, and forums. * Suggest PR/guest posting opportunities in Mexico. 5. Reporting * Provide monthly SEO reports with: * Ranking progress for target keywords. * Organic traffic from Mexico. * Conversions (trial signups, resource downloads). * Recommend adjustments for continuous improvement. Requirements * 2+ years of proven SEO experience (technical + content). * Track record ranking Spanish-language websites, preferably in Mexico or Latin America. * Strong knowledge of Google.mx SEO best practices. * Familiarity with SEO tools (Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, etc.). * Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently. * Communication in English (working with international team).
