**Job Description** **Position Title:** Experienced Developer/SEO Specialist **Overview:** We are seeking a highly skilled developer with expertise in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to address and enhance the breadcrumb navigation on our website. The site utilizes a React/Next.js frontend in conjunction with a Python FastAPI backend and is hosted on Vercel. **Current Situation:** Breadcrumb navigation currently exists on the website, linking pages in a hierarchical manner (e.g., state → city → profiles). However, these breadcrumbs are implemented using JavaScript (jQuery), which prevents Google from indexing them appropriately, leading to errors in Google Search Console. This issue adversely impacts our SEO efforts and hinders Google’s comprehension of the website’s structure. **Scope of Work:** - Safely remove the existing JavaScript/jQuery-based breadcrumbs from all pages. - Implement SEO-friendly breadcrumbs that are: - Server-rendered to ensure accessibility without reliance on JavaScript for search engine crawlers. - Compliant with JSON-LD BreadcrumbList schema. - Correctly displayed on the following pages: - Profile pages - City pages - State pages - Ensure that the breadcrumbs accurately reflect the site hierarchy as follows: - Home → State → City → Profile - Maintain visual styling that is consistent with the existing website design. - Validate that the breadcrumbs are correctly rendered in the Google Rich Results Test. **Important Note:** Only candidates with extensive experience should apply. The selected freelancer must exercise caution to avoid disrupting or altering any other functionality of the website. This is a live site with active traffic; therefore, any errors could negatively impact user experience and SEO performance. **Opportunity for Ongoing Work:** Should this project be executed successfully, there will be opportunities for ongoing engagement related to website maintenance and further SEO enhancements. Additional fixes and optimizations will be addressed following the completion of the breadcrumb implementation. **Requirements:** - Demonstrated experience with React, Next.js, and FastAPI projects. - Comprehensive knowledge of technical SEO, structured data, and proficiency with Google Search Console. - Familiarity with Vercel deployment processes. **Deliverables:** - Fully functional breadcrumbs implemented across all relevant pages. - Removal of the legacy JavaScript-based breadcrumbs. - Validation and operationalization of the JSON-LD schema. - Clear instructions provided for future maintenance. **Access:** Access to the GitHub repository and Vercel deployment will be granted upon project initiation.
