About the Role
Our client is a well-known NSW State Government agency responsible for the Construction, building, and maintenance of physical facilities and resources that support teaching and learning. They are currently seeking 2x Senior Transport Planners to come in and join their team in Eveleigh on a 12 month contract with potential for extension.
Candidates for this position must have Technical Transport Planning Expertise, coupled with Policy and Legislative Acumen, and ability to provide data driven advice.
Reporting into the Transport Planning Manager the Senior Transport Planner will support projects in Infrastructure Planning, Delivery and ad hoc transport requests by non-project schools.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Conduct and manage the review of transport planning deliverables (e.g., Lite-Rapid, Rapid, and full Transport Assessments, School Transport Plans) and perform desktop due diligence to ensure quality and compliance across the project lifecycle.
- Analyse and draft responses to transport-related policies, legislation, and planning proposals (NSW Government and local government) to ensure regulatory compliance and manage changes impacting school infrastructure.
- Develop data-driven recommendations and strategic advice based on consultant work to effectively manage and mitigate transport-related risks for infrastructure projects.
- Source, review, and evaluate data to measure the progress of transport strategies, report on outcomes, and drive continuous improvement and innovation in transport infrastructure and operations.
- Prepare high-quality professional correspondence, briefings, and reports and develop effective working relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders to facilitate timely communication and consultation.
- Collaborate with and support internal teams (including Transport Planning, Strategic Planning, Asset Management, and Project Management) to deliver quality services and contribute to team-wide professional development and best practice.
About You
You will be a highly experienced Senior Transport Planner with proven experience and reliability in previous positions:
The successful candidate will possess:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Planning, Engineering or similar
- Transport Planning Technical Expertise
- Policy and Regulatory Knowledge
- Ability to provide Data-Driven Strategic Advice
- High-Quality Written and verbal communication
- Diverse Stakeholder Management
- Team Collaboration and Support
