• EQL Edtech is recruiting on behalf of a foundation-backed initiative exploring a technical co-creation partnership with UNICEF’s Learning Passport - a digital education platform already reaching 11 million learners worldwide, with a vision to scale to 50 million by 2030.
• The Learning Passport is evolving from a desktop-first platform into a mobile-native, AI-powered solution that can deliver world-class learning experiences in diverse environments, including low-connectivity regions.
• This role offers the chance to work directly with an expert in the future of work, AI, and entrepreneurship, bringing startup pace and innovation to a global non-profit initiative.
• Responsibilities
• Lead React/JavaScript development to improve usability and performance
• Prototype and ship AI-powered features (e.g., tutoring/study modes)
• Manage repos, CI/CD pipelines, migrations, and disciplined code reviews
• Translate technical updates into clear, concise debriefs for stakeholders
• Align roadmap and product delivery (DevOps board, sandbox vs production)
• Optimise platform performance for low-connectivity environments
• First 90 Days Deliverables
• 30 days: Local environment setup + first tangible UX improvements
• 60 days: Multiple UX fixes + mobile-native development underway
• 90 days: Stable UX baseline (auth, navigation, performance) + 2–3 AI features shipped, including AI Study Mode
• 5–7+ years of hands-on coding experience
• Strong expertise in React + JavaScript
• Proven track record of shipping AI-powered features into production
• Experience in fast-paced, high-standard tech cultures (Google, GitHub, Stripe, Cloudflare, Meta, etc.)
• Excellent communication skills, proactive, and comfortable in lean teams
