I am currently working with a company working across multiple areas of expertise in the maritime space, specifically in Electronic Warfare. After significant expansion in the Canberra HQ, they are looking for a Principal Engineer / Senior Principal Engineer to join their growing team. We are seeking engineering professionals to support a range of technical programs across various sectors. The position involves managing engineering documentation, change processes, and system configurations within complex environments. Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain configuration and change management plans
Establish and control system baselines
Conduct audits and assessments related to system integrity
Develop and maintain configuration management plans in accordance with Defence standards
Establish and control configuration baselines for defence systems and subsystems
Conduct configuration audits
Prepare, review, and process Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) in accordance with Defence requirements.
Conduct impact assessments for proposed engineering changes

What you'll need to succeed

Expert-level knowledge of Defence configuration management standards
Leadership experience in major Defence programs
Strategic planning and process improvement capabilities
Mentoring and team leadership experience
Experience with Defence capability acquisition and sustainment programs
Knowledge of ASDEFCON
Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., IBM DOORS, Windchill, TeamCenter)
Knowledge of systems engineering standards
Current NV1 Clearance
