About This Opportunity We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Manager, Marketing and Communication to join the Advancement and Community Engagement division. In this pivotal role, you will lead the development and delivery of integrated marketing and communication strategies designed to enhance the University’s profile and deepen engagement with alumni, donors, and the broader community. This position is responsible for creating and distributing engaging content across a wide range of channels, while also driving media engagement and amplifying major philanthropic and community initiatives. Varied and fast-paced, the role also contributes to the development and delivery of broader digital strategies, ensuring impactful and innovative engagement with UQ’s global community. Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Develop and implement annual marketing and communication plans, including integrated philanthropic and community engagement campaigns aligned with UQ priorities. Drive strategies to raise UQ’s profile with alumni, donors, and the wider community; collaborate with Advancement teams, Central M&C, and alumni ambassadors. Oversee creation of tailored content and collateral, manage alumni social media channels and platforms, and support Vice-Chancellor’s engagement efforts. Ensure delivery of plans to scope, time, and budget; review outcomes, analyse performance, and recommend improvements. Lead and develop a marketing and communications team, foster internal communication, and ensure compliance with ethical and conduct standards. About You Postgraduate level qualifications in marketing, communications, public relations or other relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal qualifications and relevant professional experience. Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of marketing and communication campaigns, demonstrating capacity to deliver quantifiable results. Demonstrated experience in navigating a large and complex organisational environment. Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary approaches in strategic marketing and communication, including theory, methods and technology. Demonstrated knowledge in stakeholder planning and engagement, including capacity to successfully reach target audiences. Previous work experience in the higher education sector and/or philanthropy is desirable. Outstanding written communication skills, demonstrated through a portfolio of previous marketing and communication content, collateral and/or publications. Capacity to act as a strategic advisor at senior management level, providing authoritative advice in the application of marketing and communication disciplines to business objectives.
