Job Description About the Project ACCIONA is proud to be delivering the Rockhampton Ring Road with our JV partner Fulton Hogan- a transformative infrastructure project that will improve connectivity, safety, and freight efficiency in Central Queensland. As part of our expanding team, we are seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to support daily construction activities and ensure compliance with environmental and sustainability procedures. About the Role ACCIONA is seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to join our dynamic project team. In this key role, you will administer, implement, and maintain the environmental management plan for the project, supporting delivery to ensure compliance with environmental legislation and ACCIONA’s system requirements. You’ll lead environmental approvals, risk management, incident response, and monitoring programs, while promoting best practices and continuous improvement across sustainability outcomes. Key Responsibilities Administer, implement, and maintain the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) to ensure compliance with legislation and ACCIONA systems. Identify and manage environmental approvals and provide guidance during planning and site operations. Represent legislative requirements in control documents (e.g., work method statements, toolbox talks). Monitor and action mitigation measures from approval and obligation registers. Apply ACCIONA’s risk management framework to assess and mitigate environmental risks. Conduct incident investigations, liaise with regulators, and integrate lessons learned into systems. Develop and implement environmental monitoring regimes; analyse data and respond to exceedances. Maintain Chain of Custody for environmental samples and ensure monitoring compliance. Promote a positive environmental culture and deliver training to project teams and senior leaders. Engage with stakeholders, including regulators, designers, engineers, and communities. Drive sustainability initiatives and support ISC rating delivery (e.g., As-Built). Conduct audits, inspections, and provide site-based environmental support. Prepare accurate reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Lead continuous improvement in environmental performance and strategic outcomes. Required Skills and Competencies About You A strong grasp of environmental legislation and compliance standards. Proven ability to develop and implement Environmental Management Plans (EMPs). Practical experience in site audits, inspections, and managing environmental risks. Confidence in engaging with regulators, communities, and internal teams. Analytical skills to interpret monitoring data and produce clear, actionable reports. A collaborative and mentoring mindset, promoting environmental best practices. Strategic thinking to drive sustainability and continuous improvement. You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years’ experience in environmental management—ideally within construction or infrastructure.
