Your expertise in software engineering will be crucial in developing innovative technical solutions, adhering to best practices, and driving agile processes. You’ll work on diverse projects across various technologies, impacting UQ stakeholders, staff, students, alumni, and the broader UQ community. Key responsibilities: Innovate and Implement: Design, develop, and support information systems and infrastructure for BPM and UQ Automation platforms. Consult and Advise: Provide expert consulting services on bespoke solutions and technical aspects of Automation Technologies. Advise and Support: Offer technical advice, operational support, and contribute to the architecture, governance, and best practices of automation platforms. Evaluate and Improve: Investigate, evaluate, and report on new systems and processes, while enhancing team practices. Technical Skills: Strong software development experience, especially in front-end development using JavaScript frameworks, and proficiency in Database concepts, Data management (RDBMS), and SQL. Agile Experience: Proven ability to provide development timeline estimates and experience with agile/hybrid development methodologies. Analytical Mindset: Commitment to secure development practices and strong analytical skills to assess problems and propose solutions. Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices. Self-Motivated: Organised and methodical in delivering effective solutions. Bonus Points: Experience with Java development, Linux, and AWS (including S3, CloudFront, Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, and EC2) The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check.
