Based at our picturesque and conveniently located St Lucia campus About This Opportunity We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join The Library as a Senior Coordinator, Resource Management. This role is responsible for shaping the future of metadata, driving the creation and enhancement of scholarly resource discovery. Reporting to the Manager, Resource Management, you will lead a dedicated team to deliver high-quality metadata services, enabling innovative approaches to digital collections and enhancing research and learning. With a strong focus on continuous improvement and emerging technologies, you will optimise workflows and collaborate across the Library to advance strategic priorities. Key responsibilities will include: Team Leadership & Management Provide effective leadership for the Resource Management team, including direct staff supervision, mentorship, and training. You will be responsible for overseeing team performance and ensuring the successful delivery of metadata services. Metadata Strategy & Standards Lead the development, maintenance, and implementation of metadata standards, workflows, and procedures. You will provide expert advice on metadata and emerging technologies to enhance digital collections and support new pathways for discovery. Strategic Collaboration Actively engage with staff across the Library to maximize the value of expertise and services. This includes leading and participating in strategic planning and projects to advance the Library’s priorities. Continuous Improvement Optimise metadata practices and workflows to enhance UQ's teaching, learning, and research. You will also contribute to operational planning and reporting to ensure the team’s ongoing success. The University of Queensland Library reserves the right to transfer staff to any of its services. About You Completion of a relevant degree with significant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and training. This role requires proven expertise in people management, including the ability to mentor, motivate, and lead a team. Proven expertise in metadata standards, workflows, and operations. You should have strong knowledge of emerging trends such as reparative description, persistent identifiers, and automation. Substantial knowledge of information resources, services, and publishing trends relevant to academic libraries. This includes an understanding of national and international bibliographic infrastructure and networks. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders through negotiation and relationship-building. You will have a flexible, collaborative, and inclusive approach to teamwork in a client-focused environment. You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment, and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks.
