  • The Commercial Finance Analyst (Off Premise) is responsible for supporting the Commercial Finance Business Partner in all aspects of business partnering across multiple Departments and supporting the timely reporting of key information to numerous levels of the business, including Global HQ, internal Leadership and key budget holders. This role will have a focus on ensuring accuracy and data quality in planning, providing analytical decision support and improving business partnering primarily with Sales & Operations.

  • BUSINESS PARTNERING
  • Act as a sparring partner for Sales & Operations, working collaboratively to support robust forecasting and business planning.
  • Provide timely decision support to budget owners through insightful analysis and modelling of commercial scenarios, challenging assumptions and understanding the profitability impact to the business
  • Understanding & knowledge of customer value chains, specifically commercial trading terms (on & off invoice) for all customers and the customer P&L for specific sales channels.
  • Support preparation of new product launch proposals, with substantiated inputs and understanding of impact on profitability.
  • CUSTOMER PROFITABILITY MANAGEMENT
  • Be the super user of CPM, our Sales & Customer profitability planning tool.
  • Champion data quality by ensuring planning inputs by the Sales team are accurate, relevant & reliable
  • Maintain master pricing data & SKU portfolio changes
  • Onboarding of new Sales users & delivering training as required
  • Lead process improvement & establishing best practices within CPM. Including special projects with the Global CPM Team.
  • PLANNING AND FORECASTING
  • Coordinate Monthly Planning (MPU)/Business Plan/Revised Estimates ensuring relevant stakeholders adhere to internal deadlines.
  • Support budget owners during business planning & forecasting, challenging inputs and assumptions to ensure accurate and credible full-year business plans.
  • Preparation of forecast based on the MPU (Monthly Planning Update) process and clearly articulates changes to plan.
  • Highlights risks and opportunities within the forecast and track accordingly for variance commentary.
  • MONTH END CLOSING
  • Execute key MEC tasks efficiently and effectively in CPM and SAP for the FBP to sign off.
  • Understand key performance drivers by Customer, Activity or Project to complete variance analysis against business plan.
  • REPORTING & ANALYSIS
  • Prepare and distribute detailed monthly reports, including comments by activity and account, using either SAP, BI and /or Hyperion for Key Stakeholders and Directors.
  • Monthly presentation on Month and Year-to-Date impact of function results to the respective leadership teams – clearly articulating variances and full year impact which should steer the Business in achieving its goals.
  • Provide top Customer Health Checks to the Sales team and highlight discrepancies in the customer value chain.
  • Qualifications
  • Degree Qualified in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a Commercial Finance role, with previous experience using a Sales planning system desired but not essential
  • Experience in Data Analytics & Modelling
  • IT literate, excellent MS Excel knowledge, proficient in MS PowerPoint, familiar with any integrated business analytical tool is a strong plus (SAP/ BI/Hyperion etc.)
  • The successful candidate will be an inquisitive self-starter with high attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Strong business partnering skills, able to demonstrate agility and professionalism with challenging commercial situations
