About the role Sulzer Australia Pty Ltd. is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Senior Business Development Manager to drive growth and expand our market presence across Australia. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and strategically positioning Sulzer's comprehensive solutions within key industrial sectors. Job Responsibilities Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve sales targets and expand Sulzer's market share in Australia. Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within target industries such as oil & gas, mining, power generation, water & wastewater, and general industry. Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders at prospective and existing client accounts. Conduct thorough market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential threats. Collaborate closely with internal teams, including sales, engineering, and project management, to develop tailored solutions and proposals that meet client needs. Lead the entire sales cycle from initial contact and proposal generation to contract negotiation and closing deals. Prepare and present compelling sales presentations, technical solutions, and value propositions to clients. Provide accurate sales forecasts and regularly report on business development activities and pipeline status to senior management. Represent Sulzer at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to enhance brand visibility and network with potential clients. Contribute to the continuous improvement of sales processes and strategies within the Australian market. About You Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related technical field. A Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in business development, sales, or account management within industrial sectors (e.g., oil & gas, mining, power, water treatment). Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and growing market share. Proven ability to identify and secure large, complex industrial projects. Strong understanding of industrial processes, equipment, and services relevant to Sulzer's product portfolio (e.g., pumps, mixers, agitators, compressors, services). Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Ability to build rapport and establish trust with senior-level executives and technical personnel. Strategic thinker with a proactive and results-driven approach. Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
