Are you a data-driven professional with a knack for infrastructure financial modelling? We are looking for a Principal Analyst (AO7) and a Senior Analyst (AO6) to join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering housing and economic prosperity across Queensland.
These are 3-month initial contracts with a strong potential for a 1-month extension, based in Brisbane.
The Opportunities
Working within a specialist Development Services team, you will support strategic planning and operational activities associated with infrastructure charging policies. Whether you are leading complex modelling or coordinating essential datasets, your work will directly accelerate the supply of development-ready land.
Principal Analyst (AO7)
...- Lead & Oversee: Manage the preparation and quality assurance of financially sustainable development charge models.
- Authoritative Advice: Provide expert guidance on interpreting infrastructure charging policies and resolve complex, contested issues.
- Mentor: Support junior staff in undertaking trunk infrastructure scope and cost assessments.
- Strategy: Prepare and implement business process improvements and financial guidelines.
Senior Analyst (AO6)
- Financial Modelling: Prepare core components of infrastructure financial models and validate critical inputs.
- Technical Analysis: Undertake complex infrastructure charge calculations and resolve moderately complex policy matters.
- Data Integrity: Coordinate the auditing and cleansing of data used for infrastructure project financials.
- Collaborate: Work closely with planning and engineering teams to strengthen financial governance.
What You’ll Bring
We are looking for analytical minds who thrive on detail and technical precision.
- Excel Mastery: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel is essential, including managing complex formulas and validating outputs.
- Relevant Experience: Demonstrated experience in interpreting infrastructure charging policies (e.g., Planning Act 2016 or Economic Development Act 2012).
- Financial Acumen: Experience with cost-recovery financial models and infrastructure offset administration.
- Qualifications: tertiary degrees in Property Economics, Urban Planning, or Infrastructure Planning are highly regarded.
- Essential: You must hold a current, unrestricted driver's license.
