Experienced Australian Accountant Needed for Urgent FY25 Tax Prep (Xero) Project Description: We are an award-winning cloud technology consulting firm in Sydney seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant for an urgent, project-based role. We need an expert to thoroughly review, reconcile, and clean up our financial records in preparation for our FY25 tax filing. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Xero and familiarity with Australian tax filing (GST) is preferred. This is a critical, short-term project that requires someone who can work independently (with support from our internal accounts team) and deliver high-quality, accurate results under a tight deadline. The project is expected to take at least 2 weeks, with a flexible schedule. Key Responsibilities: - Comprehensive FY25 account reconciliation to ensure all accounts are accurate and compliant. - Transaction review and reclassification to align with accounting and tax reporting standards. - Prepare and verify key financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet). - Confirm accurate calculation of Gross Profit and ensure accounts payable are current. - Identify and correct any discrepancies in financial records. Required Skills & Experience: - Proven experience as a Senior Accountant, especially with year-end tax preparation. - Proficiency with Xero or similar cloud-based accounting software. - Excellent attention to detail and complex problem-solving skills. - Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines. - Knowledge of Australian taxation rules and ATO reporting requirements preferred.
