The Red Hat Sales team is looking for an experienced Senior Solutions Architect to join us in Sydney, Australia. In this role, you will be responsible for the experience our telco customers have with Red Hat while creating possibilities, solving problems, and establishing working relationships. You'll discover and analyze the business and technical needs of our customers and collaborate between Sales and Technical Delivery teams to help our customers invest wisely in the best technical solutions that will give their business maximum flexibility and value. You will need to have a balance of technical expertise, knowledge of telco architectures, passion for open source, thorough understanding of business processes, and of the ability to identify and solve issues at the enterprise level. As a Senior Solutions Architect, you'll also need to have great communication and people skills. Primary responsibilities Develop strategic relationships with our customers to become a trusted adviser on Red Hat's offerings and solutions Provide presales technical support as a part of Red Hat's Sales team Own and be accountable for the technical sale and technical strategy within an account Support customer evaluations of our offerings, demos and technical proof of concepts Respond to customer and partner inquiries, including requests for proposal (RFPs) and requests for information (RFIs) Required Skills 7+ years of experience working in the telco and IT industries 4+ years of experience working as a presales engineer, consultant, IT architect, or in an equivalent role supporting partners and enterprises 3+ years of experience with solutions design or implementation of UNIX to Linux, high-performance computing (HPC), complex application systems, cloud, and multi-datacenter, and with modernizing application environments as well as multi-product integration Understanding of network virtualisation, VNF, CNF and how containers and virtualisation relate to software defined networking Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audience Familiarity with enterprise solutions and architectures like cloud, big data, virtualization, storage, middleware, clustering, or high availability Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with others to provide our customers with the best solutions Experience working in technical sales and strategizing with C-level users regarding technology roadmaps Expertise in one or more of the offerings of the Red Hat portfolio Ability to handle multiple priorities and take initiative; ability to manage multiple large transactions with large telco organizations Willingness to travel, possibly up to 30% Red Hat Certified Solutions Architect (RHCA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), industry or cloud certifications are a plus.
