Agri Labour Australia, on behalf of our client in the Emerald region, is seeking an experienced Section Supervisor to oversee crop production operations. This role is vital to ensuring crop treatments, water management, and fertiliser application are completed effectively and in accordance with established standards.
Your Role
As Section Supervisor, you will coordinate and supervise day-to-day crop operations, ensuring treatments are performed to specification, machinery is maintained, and staff are trained to carry out their duties safely and efficiently. You will also work closely with agronomists and farm managers to schedule crop treatments and irrigation to achieve the best production outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure crop treatments are conducted according to established procedures and train operators to perform required duties.
• Liaise with Agronomists, Agricultural Technicians, and Farm Managers regarding crop treatments and water scheduling.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment and plant are in reliable working condition.
• Oversee fertiliser application, broadcasting, and boom spraying of chemicals in line with farm protocols.
• Monitor weather conditions to ensure optimal timing and efficacy of crop treatments.
• Supervise crop operations to maintain work quality and compliance with safety standards.
• Manage inventory and storage of fertilisers and chemicals to ensure availability and safe handling.
Skills & Experience
• Certificate III or IV in Agriculture, Horticulture, or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in crop production or farm supervision.
• Strong understanding of fertiliser application, irrigation scheduling, and chemical handling.
• Proven ability to supervise and train farm staff, ensuring compliance with operational standards.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to liaise across multiple departments.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety and biosecurity requirements.
Salary & Benefits
• $69,000 – $75,000 per annum plus superannuation.
